Dramatic end to Ladies' Festival

This year's Ladies' Festival had a dramatic finale when Faversham's Arden Players staged a unique 'whodunnit' mystery to round off proceedings.

Worshipful Master Brian Planner and his wife Heather had earlier welcomed members of the Lodge of Harmony, other local lodges and family and friends to the Judds Folly Hotel in Faversham for the event on Saturday (15 April).

After an enjoyable meal and a welcome lack of formal speeches, the Players performed their short play entitled Disharmony at The Lodge, after which guests were invited to use their deductive powers to decide which member of the cast had committed a dastardly murder.

The names of all the successful amateur sleuths were then put into a hat, with the winner proving to be the Worshipful Master's daughter-in-law Rosie.

It was a real pleasure for the Lodge to welcome Worshipful Master Johnny Ochwat, who had flown over to the event from Denmark with his wife Birgitte to be at the festival. The Faversham Lodge has strong links with Johnny's Lodge in Denmark, also called the Lodge of Harmony, and it was a great pleasure to welcome guests from so far afield. Johnny and Birgitte are pictured in the first of the pictures below.

Many of Saturday's guests entered into the theme of the evening by dressing in 1920s gear - or similar fancy dress!
